Quick Start Guide

Welcome to the Quick Start Guide for SuperTables! By the end of this guide, you'll understand how to use the SuperTables Extension within Tableau, even if you're new to Tableau Extensions. SuperTables can be used as either a Dashboard Extension or a Viz Extension. First you need to ensure that you have the pre requisites required to run super Tables.

Pre-Requisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

Tableau Environment

You need a functioning Tableau environment (Desktop, Cloud, or Server). If you don't have one, you can request a free trial on Tableau's website.

Supported Versions:

  • Tableau Desktop 2018.2 and later

  • Tableau Server 2018.2 and alter

  • Tableau Cloud

SuperTables Extension

You'll need to import the SuperTables extension into your Tableau Dashboard. There are two ways to do this.

  1. Using a TREX file This file contains the extension's information. If you're an existing customer or have requested a trial, you should have access to this file. If not, request a free trial.

  2. Using the Tableau Exchange The marketplace for Tableau extensions available on versions since 2018.2. If you do not have a TREX file, a free version of SuperTables found on Tableau Exchange can be used.
