Extension is not resizing correctly in fixed dashboards, is there a workaround?

Cause: This behavior is due to a known limitation in the Qt framework used by Tableau in versions prior to 2022.2. The extension frame may not redraw correctly when dashboard layout changes are made.

Symptoms:

• Extension appears "stuck" or does not resize correctly after layout adjustments

• Happens most often in fixed-sized dashboards

Resolution: This issue was fixed in Tableau 2022.2 and later.

For earlier versions, use this temporary workaround:

1. Slightly resize the extension object (e.g., drag a corner just a few pixels).

2. Press Undo in Tableau.

This forces the dashboard to redraw the extension without affecting overall layout or dashboard size.
