# SuperTables keeps reloading in Tableau Desktop

**Cause:**\
This issue is caused by a **known sync bug in Tableau Desktop**, not in the SuperTables extension itself. When you configure a worksheet and add it to a dashboard simultaneously, Tableau tries to sync both views, but because they are treated as **separate instances**, this sync fails and causes the extension to repeatedly reload.

***

**Symptoms:**

* SuperTables view and the “Format extension” panel constantly reload
* Restarting Tableau sometimes helps, but the issue returns
* Happens mostly when configuring the worksheet and dashboard at the same time

***

**Resolution / Workaround:**\
While Tableau works on fixing the sync bug, we recommend:

1. **Remove SuperTables temporarily** from the dashboard while configuring the source worksheet
2. Only add the extension **after** your worksheet is fully prepared
3. Avoid editing both the worksheet and dashboard in parallel while the extension is active

> 🧩 This issue has been reported to Tableau and is currently under their review.

**Next Step:**\
Please report this issue to Tableau support as well. The more users report it, the higher priority it gets. We’ve already submitted a bug report on our side.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.infotopics.com/general-faqs/general-faqs/known-limitations-and-workarounds/supertables-keeps-reloading-in-tableau-desktop.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
