Can I print or export extension content from my Tableau dashboard?

Cause: Currently, Tableau does not support printing content from extensions, as they are rendered in secure iframes, separate from the native dashboard layout.

Symptoms:

• Extension content (e.g., SuperTables, WriteBackExtreme) is missing when exporting or printing

• Only Tableau-native visuals appear in the printed/exported output

Resolution / Workaround: While direct printing isn’t supported yet, you can still visualize extension data in a printable way:

• Use the extension (e.g., WriteBackExtreme) to write data to your backend

• Join or relate that data back into Tableau as a new data source

• Create a native Tableau worksheet to visualize that data

• Print/export as usual from Tableau
