Configure Visualization

Depending on the selected data structure, you need to map a few fields to configure the visualization.

Date

PowerKPIs require a date field. Dates can be date parts, date truncs, exact dates, or even integers.

If there is a date field on Date (or on Details in the source sheet for dashboard extensions), this field is automatically mapped as the date field to use.

Define KPI Cards

For Grid layout options 1 & 2, map the relevant KPI dimension (e. g. 'Segment' if you want to create a card for each segment). If you want to create KPI cards for combinations of for example two dimensions (e. g. 'Segment' and 'Region'), create a calculated field first and concatenate the two fields (e. g. [Segment]+" | "+[Region]) and use this field as your KPI dimension.

For Tree layout option 1, additionally set the parent KPI dimension.

For Tree Layout Option 2, define your custom hierarchy in the configuration menu.

Assign Card Values

PowerKPIs can cope with different ways of storing different scenarios.

When different scenarios (such as Actual, Budget, and Forecast) are stored in different columns (for example, in the Option 1 grid layout), Measure Names is the field that defines the scenarios.

If different scenarios are stored in a dimension (e.g. in Option 2 Grid Layout), this dimension in combination with Measure Names is the field that defines the scenarios.

You can also customize labels and define roles for each of these options.
