# Why are users automatically created in WriteBackExtreme when logging in via SSO or OAuth?

By default, WriteBackExtreme is configured to **automatically create a new user account** when a user logs in via Single Sign-On (SSO) or OAuth and does not already exist in the system. This is intended to streamline onboarding in environments where user management is handled externally (e.g., through an Identity Provider).

However, if you want to **prevent automatic user creation**, you can disable this feature in the Advanced Settings section:

1. Go to the **WriteBackExtreme Admin Panel**.
2. Navigate to **Advanced Settings**.
3. Locate the option: **"Disable creating a user on successful Single Sign-on or OAuth login"**.
4. Enable the toggle to prevent automatic user creation.
5. Click **Apply Settings** to save the change.

> 📌 Note: Disabling this option helps ensure tighter control over who can access WriteBackExtreme, which may be required in more security-sensitive environments.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.infotopics.com/writebackextreme/troubleshooting-and-faq/extension-errors/single-sign-on-saml/why-are-users-automatically-created-in-writebackextreme-when-logging-in-via-sso-or-oauth.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
