# Single line text

{% hint style="info" %}
Also known as `string` field. Used to create single line text fields, emoticons and maps.
{% endhint %}

Creating a schema in your WriteBackExtreme management console using the Single line text as your Field Type will give you flexibility in the front end when configuring the type of form field.

Enhance your management console by integrating Map Input into your forms, providing a dynamic and interactive way to pinpoint exact locations. This feature, easily customizable with options such as setting a default location, seamlessly integrates with your database for efficient data collection and management.

Additionally, bring vibrancy and interactive feedback to your dashboard by incorporating emoticons. These can be used to visually react to sales metrics, adding a fun and colorful layer to your data visualization.

#### Validation

We currently support validation for emails, in the future full regex validation is added to the product to support any field validation possible.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.infotopics.com/writebackextreme/features/tableau-extension/configuration/schemas/field-formatting/single-line-text.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
