# Create an app
### Creating your app
#### Connecting a datasource
When you open your new Analytics app, you will first be asked to connect to a datasource. The datasources available to you, is dependent on what [Teams](/trulyp/members-teams-and-roles/teams.md) you are in. Click **Connect** on the datasource you want to use, after which you can press **Done** to continue to Analytics.
#### Designing the dashboard
You are now ready to start creating your app! On the right side, drag in any of the visuals you would like to show. For this example, we will use the **Cartesian - Bar** visual.
When you have placed the visual on the dashboard, you will see the metrics and values you can use for this visual. Here, we will drag **Category** and **Delivery mode** to the X-axis, and **Quantity** to the Y axis. The visual will then look like this:
After adding the data, you can also change the way data is sorted, and how the data on the Y axis is calculated, for example changing from **SUM** to **COUNT**.
For this example, we will alos add a **Donut** and **Map visual,** setting them up the same way as we did the **Bar** chart.
### Viewing, filtering and interacting with your app
Now that your app is finished, you can click the eye icon in the hotbar to exit **edit** mode, and see the dashboard like any other user. Analytics dashboards are **interactable,** for example, we can filter simply by clicking on the Office supplies in the bar chart:
Of course, the same also works if you click on furniture in the Donut chart. To clear **one, multiple or all** filters, click on the filter icon in the hot bar.
#### Sharing your app
 You can also share your app with other users through the share button. You can then choose another Trulyp user with whom to share the dashboard.
You can press the cogwheel in the hotbar to open the [Global chart options](/trulyp/analytics/global-chart-options.md), from where you can change the look and feel of your charts!
