# Steering color

With this option you can decide whether you want the variance colors to appear only on the variances, or whether you want to include a colored border around the KPI card or color the card itself.

When using the **steering color on borders or cards**, it needs to be defined if the steering color is **based on the variance** to the previous value, to compare 1, or to compare 2.
