The ExtensionsManager offers a complete overview of all your Apps for Tableau products and extensions allowing you to install, configure and run them one place. In this chapter, each of these features will be expanded upon so you can get started as soon as possible!
The “Product Overview” section of the ExtensionsManager offers a comprehensive single-page summary encompassing all available products and extensions. From here you can navigate to individual products for configuration and install, initiate and terminate products and extensions. Access to TREX files for extensions is also available in this overview.
The online configuration of the ExtensionsManager allows for one click to be all you need to install your products. Get up and running in an instant, and apply advanced configuration where needed.
Manually installing your Apps for Tableau products in the ExtensionsManager requires files downloaded from the Apps for Tableau portal. This portal is where you can find all your product licenses and installation files: https://my-appsfortableau.infotopics.com
From here, download the .zip files relevant to the products you wish to install, and the platform you wish to install them on.
Upon expiration, a new license must be acquired through contact with an Apps for Tableau representative (sales@appsfortableau.com). At this point, updating the license can be done in 1 of 2 ways.
1. Automatically fetch license (Online only)
Simply navigate to the relevant product through the Product Overview and use the “restart” function. The license will now reflect the new expiration date.
2. Manually uploading the updated license file (Online/Offline)
First, download the new license from the AFT Company Portal at https://my-appsfortableau.infotopics.com/). Then navigate to the relevant product in the ExtensionsManager Product Overview and stop the product. Manually upload the license.lic and start the product back up. The license will now reflect the new expiration date.
Need to change the configuration of the Domain, Port or HTTPS? The "Advanced Settings" tab in the ExtensionsManager allows for editing of each of these settings separately, or all at once through the Wizard used for initial configuration. (using the Wizard resets settings)
